Take on the challenge and lose weight in just 8 Weeks!
We congratulate you on taking on this exciting weight loss challenge. If this isn't the first time you've tried to diet, then you realize how difficult sticking to a weight loss program can be. Initially, you may lose weight, only to regain it all (plus some!) when you resume your normal lifestyle. The goal of the 8 week challenge is to help you establish a manageable program allowing you reach your target and slim down in just eight weeks!
This 8 week program includes weekly workouts and a weekly meal plan, which are intended to help you lose weight. Now that the foundation has been laid, it's up to you to follow through and be consistent with the plan. This is a cumulative process, so you'll want to progress with the plan - try to stick to it as you go along.
Keep in Mind:
- Goal-setting is the very first step to; determine what you would like to achieve - is it total weight loss, a decrease in inches, or an increase in your energy level? Once you have devoted yourself to achieving these goals, you'll need to set dates to reach your targets. Mapping out your goals helps motivate you and keep you on track. It also provides a great way to monitor your progress.
- Be prepared by knowing your program and familiarizing yourself with the terms and details. Diets are cumulative, and each day is a small milestone to success.
- Stay on track and keep motivated and focused on your plan by monitoring yourself. Keep record of what you eat, how often you exercise and what you are doing to reach your goal. Some have even taken before and after pictures as visual motivation for staying on track. A piece of cake or an hour on the treadmill might not seem as daunting when you can look back at yourself in your 'before' photo! Keep it up! Date your photos and take them in similar clothes so you can really see a difference. A bikini or even your favorite 'skinny' jeans can be inspiration for you.
You should track your measurements by recording them faithfully each week - the most significant results often occur in the first two weeks of your diet. Seeing these results can be used as additional motivation to stay track on your diet! At some point, you may notice that you are reaching a 'plateau' in your weight loss. Don't be discouraged; this happens as your body begins to adjust to your new habits and lifestyle. Consistency and maintenance of your diet are key to continuing the weight loss, even though it may be at a slower rate than you previously experienced.
