GOD'S DIET
Giving God credit for her weight loss is exactly what Dr. Dorothy Gault-McNemee has done. She is a physician who was overweight most of her life, and decided to formulate a plan consuming only foods that God created. The diet advocates healthy eating and eliminates processed and fermented foods. Dr. Gault-McNemee also runs a clinic in New Mexico where she claims to have reduced or eliminated the need for medication in many patients suffering from diseases like diabetes and hypertension.
Foods Emphasized: Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, chicken, seeds
Foods Discouraged: Bread, pasta, alcohol, processed foods
Premise and Guidelines: The guidelines for eating faithfully in God's diet is to only eat foods that God created. These include animal and fish meat, seeds and nuts, fruits, and vegetables. The rule is if you can't pick it, pluck it, pull it, or skin it, you shouldn’t eat it! This diet also advocates preparing foods simply, and without excessive sauces and processed matter, and avoiding sugar
While this diet does promote of the healthy eating of fruits and vegetables and doesn't eliminate major food groups, it leaves healthy foods that are ‘man-made’ in the dust. This diet is a more manageable one to follow, although eliminating anything man-made is going to be difficult long-term. We’re not sure what God would say, but anything that can effectively help a dieter lose weight gets our holy approval!
